About Me

Welcome to my little corner of the blog world!  My name is Kelly and  I am a wife, mom, and photographer.  I live in the Chicagoland area where there are 2 seasons, winter and  road construction.  But seriously, the change of seasons in the midwest makes it a wonderfully dynamic place to explore photography.  There are so many wonderful natural backdrops that God has given us and that make for such beautiful family photographs.

I love working with kids and families to create beautiful images that will hang on the walls of their homes for years to come.  I work using mostly natural light to capture both candid and posed images of babies, kids, families, couples, and individuals.

I love doing photo sessions with couples and families, but I also love the challenge of doing weddings and other special events, headshots, and commercial work.  I’ve created fresh looks for actors and fellow bloggers wishing to update their headshots.  I’ve captured the small details as well as the big scenes at weddings, charity events, and anniversary parties.  And, I’ve helped small businesses update the look of their websites with new, attractive photos of their products and services.

Finally on a more personal level, I’ve captured unforgettable sweet moments in my life at home and at family events that will be preserved for generations to come.  People often joke about how they take a million pictures of their first child, then their next child or children are lucky if there are any pictures at all in the family album.  For me, it’s the opposite; as I became more and more enthralled with photography, I bought better equipment and took more and more pictures with each child.  There are thousands of pictures of my first born, but there are probably double the amount of my second born.  Now, my last born is only 7 weeks old and I already have folder upon folder of pictures of her on my computer desktop.

I love how no matter what changes happen to me as a person, photography is something that grows with me.  It acts as a journal of the events in my life, as a creative outlet, and most importantly as an art form that inspires me to learn, love, and grow with every day of my life.
